The Chinese Dance Team is an after school program aiming to promote and foster Chinese culture, through the creation of a Chinese-style dance. Other than fostering a better understanding of Chinese history and cultural heritage, the final dance will be performed by students at our school’s Chinese New Year celebrations and other events. This allows students to not only learn more about Chinese culture but offers students the chance to perform on stage. An audition will be held for the selection of the dance team members.

This club allows children to experience ancient Chinese poems through music. Instead of rote memorisation, students will learn to sing or chant classic verses with simple melodies and rhythms.
This helps them remember the poems naturally, while also connecting with the emotion and imagery in the lines. With simple body percussion or movement, young learners engage both their hearts and minds. It provides a joyful bridge between language, culture, and creativity – turning classical poetry into songs they will never forget.
